Spencer HankSPENCER, Hank   - 1945 - 2021 It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Hank Spencer on Friday, April 9, 2021.

Predeceased by his brother Ian, he leaves his wife of almost 54 years, Lynn, his daughter Kelly, his son, Greg (Michelle Astrug), and grandchildren Leah, Eli and Hannah, sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.

He was a wonderful husband, dad, grandpa, friend and mentor.

Hank graduated from Oakville Trafalgar High School and McMaster University. He spent his entire career teaching Phys. Ed. in Etobicoke.

A great lover of sports, he enthusiastically coached many school basketball and football teams, notably the Alderwood Augies and the Etobicoke Rams and remained in contact with many former players.

He also coached and refereed in his children's baseball and basketball leagues. He was a keen golfer with past memberships at Georgetown and Islington Golf Clubs.

Hank is remembered as volunteering countless hours and was a board member of many organizations, including the Brampton Kiwanis Club, the Brampton Community Service Foundation, the Brampton YMCA, the Etobicoke Lawn Bowling Club and Barclay Terrace.

During his retirement he and Lynn travelled and spent winters in Florida. Chef and pastry maker that he was, he took control of the kichen.

He worked very hard maintaining the greens and property of the Etobicoke Lawn Bowling Club, his backyard!

He is remembered by many friends and colleagues as a warm, fun-loving, knowledgeable, efficient, friendly and practical person. He will be missed by many! No services will be held at this time.
