Charles MaryCHARLES, Mary Yvonne (nee OLDFIN)    -  March 6, 1926 – Winnipeg, Manitoba - April 7, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Mary Charles (née Oldfin), loving wife to Garner Charles (deceased), passed away peacefully in Calgary, Alberta on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at the age of 95 years, after moving from Toronto to Calgary two years ago to be closer to her daughter and family.

Mary maintained a strong sense of independence, work ethic, deep compassion and commitment to her family and friends, always striving to be both caring to family and help others achieve a successful life.

Strongly sociable and blessed with a dazzling smile and sense of humour, she was constantly planning and holding gatherings and parties for her friends and family creating a community of friendship that would last her entire life.

Mary is survived by her daughter Dianne and son-in-law David; son Michael and daughter-in-law Ruth; along with her five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life is intended to be held in Toronto later this summer as travel and social gathering restrictions subside.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to The Alzheimer Society of Canada, 20 Eglinton Avenue West, 16th Floor, Toronto, ON M4R 1K8, Telephone: 1-800-616-8816, https://alzheimer.ca/en.

Our family would like to express their greatest thanks to all the staff and volunteers at Staywell Manor Village who made her final year at the residence pleasant and meaningful.
