Raber FredaRABER, Freda - It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Freda Raber (nee Schiller) in her 92nd year, on May 29, 2021, at her home in Toronto, with her family by her side.

Freda was the beloved wife of the late Bernard Raber (2009) of Winnipeg.

Freda will be missed, but lives on in each of her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

Dear mother of Marilyn and Robert Burke, Lorraine and Mark Stillman, and Steven and Leigh Raber.

Cherished grandmother of Jessica and Daniel Browman, Shaun and Nicole Burke, Jay and Sara Burke, Pam and Jordy Mecklinger, Sheri and Chad Finkelstein, and Benjamin, Daniel, and Richard Raber. Proud Baba Freda to her great-grandchildren Layla, Jake, and Bree, Bo and Remi, Hayley and Brandon, and Sophie and Charlie.

A Holocaust Survivor, Freda arrived in Canada in January, 1948. Despite the frigid wintery welcome, she settled in Winnipeg where she met and married Bernard, raised her family and lived for 70 years before moving to Toronto in 2018.

She will be missed by her nieces and nephews across Canada, her treasured good friends in Winnipeg and the wonderful new friends she made at the Avenue in Toronto.

The youngest member of her family, Freda was predeceased by her father, Eliezer Schiller, who perished in the Holocaust, her mother, Pearl (Paia Schiller, nee Leibman), and her brothers, Hersh, Paul and Moe.

A private graveside service will be held in Winnipeg.

The family is grateful to Opal Wilson for her exemplary care over the last few months.

If desired, please consider a donation to the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care at Sinai Health, Toronto 416-586-8203 or The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada 1-833- 222-488.
