McSHERRY, Peter Henry   -  Peter passed away suddenly on July 27, 2021 at the age of 76.

In his early years, Peter loved to stay fit and play basketball at the YMCA, but he had a passion for boxing, chess and writing. In the 1990s, he wrote a column for Taxi News and always supported the taxi industry.

If he felt that someone was wronged, he would often speak up in their defense. Peter was especially proud of his three published books.

For "The Big Red Fox", he was runner up for the Arthur Ellis award for excellence in Canadian crime.

For "Mean Streets", he was nominated for The Edna Staebler Award for creative Canadian non-fiction.

His last published book was "Whatever Happened to Mickey?"

A lifetime bachelor, he enjoyed walks about the city during the pandemic. He is survived by his sister Margaret Stafford, nieces Lorraine and Lynne and four great-nieces and nephews.

Many thanks to his lifelong friends John Lawson and Dave Yates and many others who offered their friendship and support over the years.
