Wagner MaeWAGNER, Mae Elizabeth "Betty"  -  May 28, 1923 - January 20, 2022

An extraordinary life well-lived. Sadly, we wish to announce the peaceful passing of Mae Elizabeth (Betty) Wagner, on January 20, 2022, at Humber River Hospital in Toronto, in her 99th year.

Betty was predeceased by her two brothers, Arthur and Russel, lifelong friends Geraldine Fisher and Shirley Hendry and she will be remembered and missed by her many nieces, nephews and grand and great-grandnieces and nephews and her many friends and associates accumulated over the years.

At 98 years of age, Betty's life can best be described as a life well-lived in the guidance to and service of others. Betty was born May 23, 1923, in Bridgeport, Waterloo County, Ontario.

Betty was an accomplished educator and administrator and spent many years teaching, administrating, and directing for the Toronto School Board and DND schools for Canadian forces in Germany.

Betty is remembered by many teachers who were seconded to teaching positions with and under Betty's direction. Betty enjoyed her life in Canada and her overseas life, travelling, leading tours and photographing extensively in Africa, Europe and much of the rest of the world. Betty has resided at Humber Heights Retirement home for the past 9 years.

There, she received excellent care from the staff and management who considered Betty as family.

Due to the restrictions of the pandemic, we have decided to hold a celebration of life later this spring or summer.
