Hill HellenHILL, Helen Denbee   - 1935 - 2023 The Reverend Helen Hill, retired Anglican Priest, died on November 14, 2023, in her 89th year.

She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Robert Hill; and her younger daughter, Diana Hill Stringer.

She is survived by daughter, Lisanne Hill (Rob Dowler); son, Robert Hill; son-in-law, Brad Stringer; grandchildren, Sarah and Robert Dowler; step-grandchildren, Jade and Skyler Stringer; niece, Kirsten Watson; and countless close friends in Canada and the United States, especially her lifelong friend, Felice Seavey of New Orleans, Louisiana, and Gulf Shores, Alabama.

Also left to mourn Helen are her devoted housekeeper, Josefina Apolinar; and Pat McGinnis and other friends from the dog group, all of whom did so much to make it possible for Helen to remain in her home until the end.

Helen was born in New Orleans; she studied at the Isidore Newman School, North-Western University, Tulane University, the Sorbonne, Boston University, and the Vancouver School of Theology.

Helen served in parishes in the Diocese of New Westminster, the Willingdon Youth Detention Centre, and in various Diocesan roles. She was a progressive theologian who embodied inclusion without judgement in all her ministry.

Helen's funeral Eucharist will be at Christ Church Cathedral, 690 Burrard Street, Vancouver, on Saturday, November 25th at 1:30 p.m. All are welcome at Christ's table to remember Helen.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Anglican Foundation of Canada (www.anglicanfoundation.org/donate/) or Doctors Without Borders Canada (www.doctorswithoutborders.ca/)

May she rest in peace and may light perpetual shine upon her.
