EIBERGER, Erwin - With sadness, we announce the passing of Erwin Eiberger on November 13, 2023, at home.
Erwin was predeceased by his parents, Johann and Anna Eiberger; his brother, Johann Eiberger; and sisters, Jenny Heisler and Mathilde Budnik.
He is survived by his nephews, Fred and Peter Budnik; and the extended Eiberger and Budnik families.
Erwin was born on August 2, 1933, in Augsburg, Germany.
In his early twenties, one of the pioneers of his family, he came to Toronto to build a new life.
He soon embarked on his career as a precision machinist in the tool and dye field. Never married, Erwin, together with his sister, Jenny, established the family home on McNairn Avenue, where he lived for over 60 years.
In retirement, Erwin cared daily for his sister, Jenny, and then continued to volunteer at the Senior's Health Centre for some 15 years after her passing. On his own, he again visited Germany twice to reconnect with lifelong friends and family.
Erwin will always be remembered as a kind and supportive man, with a positive nature that brightened the world around him. He was well known for a witty remark and his jokes, often corny.
Erwin always maintained his gentle German accent, while priding himself in learning the ways of his adopted home, traits that spoke to the gentleman he always was.
In death, his spirit lives on in the countless happy memories he has created for friends and family alike.

A public celebration of Erwin's life will take place December 2, 2023, at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre, 375 Mount Pleasant Rd., Toronto, ON; Visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., with Service and Reception to follow.
