DUNLOP, Carolyn Mae Dunlop -
August 14, 1941 - September 1, 2023

Carolyn Mae Dunlop (nee Mann) August 14, 1941; mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away on Friday, September 1, 2023.

She was surrounded by family and shared a round of “I love yous” with her children and grandchildren before peacefully departing.

Carolyn was born to Wilbert Mann and Muriel Mann (nee Noble) and was sister to J. Douglas Mann and Marion Hunter (deceased) in Oshawa, Ontario.

Carolyn’s early years were about family and community, two values which she carried forward throughout her life. Summers in Baltimore on family farms were fondly remembered and recounted in later years.

Carolyn’s career was in education with extensive teaching in secondary schools in both the Toronto and Durham School Boards.

Carolyn settled in Pickering in 1975 with John S Dunlop (deceased) and raised two children of her own, Krista Lynn Sheppard (Paul Sheppard) and John Egan Dunlop (Alexis Dunlop) and scores of other children in the community through her involvement in Girl Guides, Scouts and her church family.

Carolyn was dedicated to others, quietly working behind the scenes, serving both her family and community.

Carolyn’s grandchildren were the light of her life, Zachary, Ivy and Astrid and could always expect unending sweets at her house. She was beloved by many nieces, nephews and cousins aplenty.

Arrangements with McEachnie Funeral Home.
