MacDONALD, Clarence A. MacDonald -

1941 - 2024

Clarence MacDonald (Mac) born in Sheet Harbour NS on September 16, 1941 passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on February 8, 2024 in Oshawa ON.

Reunited with his beloved wife Glenice MacDonald (July 18, 2023).

Cherished father of Stacy MacDonald (Richard Dorman) of Oshawa ON; and Danielle MacDonald Smith (Michael Smith) of Toronto ON; and Sean MacDonald (Anya) of Barrie ON; five granddaughters, Ashley, Sarah, Kayla, Brianna and Aaliyah; nine great-grandchildren: Darrius, Miya, Mitchell, Malik, Koen, Vada, Frankie, Rosie and Cairo; uncle to Lisa, Barry, John and Dale. He was predeceased by his parents; one sister Jean Smith of Sheet Harbour NS; two brothers Blair MacDonald of Liverpool NS and Terrace MacDonald of Kentville NS.

Mac was the eldest son of the late Angus and Marie (Johnson) MacDonald. He came to Ontario in his early 20’s where he then meet his wife Glenice and were married for 55 years.

Mac worked for CN Rail and later for Freightmaster as a truck driver. Mac and Glenice moved out east in 2006 to New Brunswick to retire and called the Miramichi Retirement Community their new home.

Mac enjoyed his volunteer services in 2008 in Miramichi flying in the C-130 Hercules as part of a joint training exercise between the Canadian Air Force and the local Civil Air Search and Rescue Association.

Mac was a dedicated family man who loved sports.

We will remember Mac as one of the kindest, gentle souls who always made everyone laugh and feel comfortable. He cared for his wife until the very last day and his children cared for him until his last breath. You are forever in our hearts, we have gained a new Angel in Heaven.

At Mac’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service.

As expression of sympathy donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
