SZENDRE, Stephen 'Steve' - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Steve on January 18, 2021 at the age of 79.
Predeceased by his half-sister Elizabeth (Deak) Beke (2018), his parents Stephen and Elizabeth, and half-brother George.
Stephen is survived by his family in Alberta: nephew Joseph Deak and his wife Linda, their children Christopher and Erin (Steve) Fisher and their children, great-great-nephews Jacob and Braden Fisher.

BAYKO, Joyce - It is with a broken heart that I announce the unexpected passing of my dear wife, Joyce, who suffered through this terrible covid virus and fought with all her strength but finally gave in on January 18, 2021 at the Markham Stouffville Hospital.
Joyce’s beautiful smile captured the hearts of many, and it captured mine over 54 years ago as we became best friends, lovers, husband and wife.
My confidant and my teacher in many ways.
I was at her side as she took her last breath that finally ended her suffering.

GREENSPAN, Gloria Goldie Garshowitz Glayt - We are saddened by the sudden loss of a vibrant young 91-year-old.
Gloria Goldie Garshowitz Greenspan Glayt, referred to as GG by her friends at Shalom Village, was born on November 26, 1929.
She died peacefully at Shalom Village on January 18, 2021, after a 3 week illness.
Our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, cousin, aunt and friend, saw the world through rose coloured glasses.
She was predeceased by her husband Samuel Greenspan, her son Barry Greenspan, brother Barrel Garshowitz, sister Ruthie Garshowitz, Parents Freda and Max Garshowitz.

RANSOM, Richard "Rick" Charles - Passed away peacefully at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga on Monday, January 18, 2021.
He leaves behind his son, Taylor (Kelly), his grandchildren, Grayson and Callan, as well as his brother, Bob (Jan).
He was predeceased by his wife, Sandra, of 48 years.
He will also be greatly missed by his sisters-in-law, Lorraine (Peter) and Yvonne, and by his nieces and nephews, Peter William, Alexander, Andrea, Kelly, Kary, Lauren, Ryan, Joshua, Jocelyn, Victoria, Sara and Meaghan, as well as by many cherished extended family members, friends and colleagues.

RODDICK, Marie (nee Roach) - We are deeply saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Marie Roddick (nee Roach) on January 17, 2021 in her 99th year.
She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Survived by sons Jeff (Terry) and Gordon (Sue). Pre-deceased by husband Reay and eight brothers and sisters.
Marie was born in Lindsay, Ontario and grew up on the family farm within a large loving family.
She was known for the passion and commitment she brought to everything she did, from her time as a registered nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Toronto to a flight attendant with Trans-Canada Airlines in the 1940s when passenger airline travel was a true adventure. Longtime real estate agent with Sutton Group Old Mill in Etobicoke, she was active in real estate until her eighty sixth year because she loved it.

SMITH, Barbara Ann (Summers) - (8 October, 1934 – 17 January, 2021) - Barbara Summers, daughter of George and Lucille, lived her whole life in Toronto and died peacefully at Scarborough General Hospital after a short but valiant battle.
Growing up in the west end of the city, attending St Helen’s School and Loretto College School, Barbara was also a proud member of St Anthony’s Parish on Bloor St. She became politically active as a Young Liberal under Paul Hellyer in the early 1950’s.
After marrying Jim Smith, the family moved to Scarborough. Beloved mother to Stephen and Mary Anne, she immersed herself in the Parish & school communities of St. Theresa’s Shrine of the Little Flower. For over 30 years she was charged with the lead of many musical activities (both liturgical & social/community) including children’s, youth and adult choirs, under the direction of many Parish Priests and STS school principals.
