THOMAS, Alvin Wesley "Al" - With sadness, but also in celebration of his great life, we announce the peaceful passing away of Al Thomas on January 26, 2019, at the age of 84.
Loving husband of Marie (nee Parker) for 34 years and of the late Joan (nee McLeod) for 26 years.
Devoted father of Shelly (Murray) Harper, Ward (Lisa) Thomas and Valerie (Dany) Laferrière.
Cherished Grandpa of Morgan (Derek) Landoni, Brock (Ana) Harper, Wesley, Victoria, Abbey, the late Ingrid Thomas, Liberty, Lucie and Roch Laferrière and Great-Grandpa of Lincoln and Haven Landoni.
Predeceased by his parents Wes and Mae Thomas (nee Bradshaw) and by his three sisters Fern, Jean and Dorothy. Brother-in-law to Margaret Parker and predeceased by his brothers-in-law Omer, Francis, Lewis, Sydney and Donnie Parker.
Survived by his favourite cousin Marjorie Windover and predeceased by his favourite cousin Elmore Thomas. Al will also be missed by his nieces and nephews and many long-time friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 9th from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. with A Celebration of Life in the Chapel at 12:00 p.m., all at Kitching, Steepe & Ludwig Funeral Home, Waterdown. Reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society or the Joseph Brant Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
