SIEKIERSKI, Armilde - December 13, 1925 - December 20, 2020
Cherished mother of John and Suzanna, Granny to Kari and Kyle and cousin Sean, and great-grandmother to Penelope and Nicholas, passed away peacefully one week after her 95th birthday.
Born in Hiiumaa, Estonia, Armilde (nee Sarapuu) was one of seven children to parents Magnus and Pauline Sarapuu. Armilde's life was defined by her resilience.
After fleeing her home on her own during World War II, she arrived in Sweden and soon met Waclaw Siekierski, her husband of 60 years.
They lived a long and happy life together in Toronto before his passing in 2010.
A gifted artist, Armilde captured the beauty of the natural world on canvas.
Her paintings will remind family and friends of the strength of her character, her warmth and her knowing smile as they're enjoyed for years to come.
A celebration of Armilde's life will be held next year.
