Pierce JohnPIERCE, Johm William "Bill" George   -  GEORGE August 24, 1921 – December 24, 2020

Bill passed away peacefully at West Lake Terrace in Picton, Ontario at the age of 99.

Born in London, Ontario, Bill lived most of his life in Toronto where he married his high school sweetheart Madeline (Weber), raised his family and had a successful career in Science Education in the Toronto and Etobicoke School Boards.

Bill is survived by his brother Ross in North Carolina; children Glenn, Lorie, and David; grandchildren William, Clara (Geoff), Esther (Spencer), Matthew, Brian (Amy), Mary (Kevin), Kelly (Mike); great-grandchildren Sierra, Alice, Stephen; daughters-in-law Marie Eveline, Carol (Corben), Diane (Karn); son-in-law Mark Lindenberg; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Madeline, parents Bill and Ellen (Page), brother Bob and son Stephen. Bill was a graduate (BSc) of the University of Western Ontario.

Inspired by Terry Fox, Bill set up and administered a Terry Fox Run in Etobicoke every September for a decade. Bill was devoted to his family and took pride in their accomplishments.

He and Madeline were founding members of St. Matthew's Anglican Church in Islington, Ontario where Bill served as a warden.

Kind, generous, and good-natured, he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Bill chose to be cremated and his ashes will be interred at a later date, joining Madeline, in Erskine Cemetery at Pickering, Ontario.

If desired, friends may make memorial contributions to a charity of their choice.
