Luciano RonaldLUCIANO, Ronald  -  On March 13, 2021, we lost our beloved father, brother, uncle and grandfather, Ron Luciano.

Born January 6, 1941, in Ottawa, Ron received a BA at Sir George Williams University (now Concordia) in Montreal and received his MSc in Organizational Behaviour at George Williams College just outside Chicago, Illinois, graduating Summa Cum Laude.

In his career in child welfare, Ron was Executive Director of Algoma CAS as well as Peel CAS, CEO at the Institute for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Owner of DFK Residential Services.

Ron was a tireless volunteer, so much so that publishing a full listing would bankrupt the estate.

Highlights include Chair of North American Region for the International Council on Social Welfare, Chair of National Board for the United Way of Canada, Member of National Board for Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada, Member of Ontario Hospital Association Board of Trustees, Member of Premier's Council on Health Strategy, Alderman of City of Brampton, President of Southampton Rotary Club and Brampton South Rotary Club.

His service was recognized with many awards, including United Way National Leadership Award, City of Brampton Citizen of the Year (1989) and multiple Rotary Paul Harris Fellow Awards.

Ron is survived by former wife, Marilyn, sister Rose and brother-in-law Daryl, nephews Rob, Ben, Andy and niece Rosa, favourite son Peter and other favourite son Jeff, daughters-in-law Amanda and Diane, granddaughter Harlow and granddog Banshee.

He was a great man and will be sorely missed.

Also, in 1964, Ron wrestled a bear called Ted the Terrible.
