CANTALINI, Augusta - May 19, 1935 – March 25, 2021
Passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, after valiantly battling various health conditions.
Augusta leaves behind her loving daughter Silvana, loving son-in-law Bob and a loving large family in Canada and Italy, who will greatly miss her.
She was born in S. Demetrio Nei Vestini, Prov. L'Aquila, Abruzzo, Italy, to two wonderful parents, Luigi Ferrante and Laura Bruno.
Augusta, being the eldest daughter of a family of seven siblings, contributed from a very early age, the support, perseverance, hard work required for her family
Augusta was the first sibling in her family to emigrate outside of Italy, after World War II, first to Luxembourg and subsequently in 1958, to Toronto.
Upon her arrival, she met the love of her life, her future husband Mario.
They married in June 1959 and had two twin daughters, Silvana and Maria, of which Maria, unfortunately did not survive due to very premature birth.
They were married for almost 51 years, until Mario's passing in April 2010.
Augusta was the salt of the earth! Her strong sense of integrity and love of family were evident in all her actions and comments. She lived out her principles of fairness and kindness. She gave her unconditional and generous love throughout her life. She always said and did the right things, was witty and had a great sense of humour.
She was an exemplary person in all of the roles she held. Her best roles were being the most loving mother a daughter could ever have and the most loving wife a husband could ever have. She was everyone's zia, nonna, nonnetta.
Integrity is doing the right thing when no one is watching is how Augusta lived. Grazie con tutto il cuore cara mamma. We miss you so.
