Mazzolin MarioMAZZOLIN, Mario Leopoldo - Mario Mazzolin, of Scarborough, Ontario, passed away at the age of 88, on Sunday April 25, 2021, with his daughter by his side.

Mario is survived by his daughter Maria and her husband Paul, daughter Sylvia and her husband Mike, son Leo and his wife Milena, his five grandchildren, Christopher and his wife Diana, Cory, Stephanie, Christina and Michael.

Mario is also survived by his brother Beniamino and two sisters-in-law Edvige and Ines.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Teresa, his parents, Angela and Roberto and his brothers Romeo and Carlo.

Mario Mazzolin was born in Udine, Italy, in 1933, to Angela and Roberto Mazzolin. Growing up in Italy, he studied music and learned to play the organ. He spent some time in the army and later met the love of his life, Teresa.He immigrated to Canada in his twenties, with his adoring wife, Teresa, and his three brothers and their wives, to start a new life.

Mario worked as a painter by trade, and became the organist for the Italian mass at St. Lawrence Martyr Church in Scarborough. The church was like a second home for him, where he enjoyed many hours of choir practice with so many wonderful friends.

Mario was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, always enjoying the company of his family. He was an avid bocce player, earning many trophies along the way. He loved spending time gardening, building furniture and making wine. Mario also had an amazing sense of humor, telling jokes at many family gatherings

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Lawrence Martyr Church, 2210 Lawrence Ave. East, Scarborough, on Saturday, May 1st at 11 a.m. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Funeral Service and interment will be private by invitation only.

The Funeral Service will be broadcasted via live link on that day, via the website of the Paul O'Connor funeral home. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, in Thornhill.
