Hoo MichelleHOO, Michelle Andrea - 64, of Scarborough, Ontario, passed away on October 5, 2021, from unexpected heart failure in Sunnybrook Hospital, with Joe Baker, her partner of 26 years, by her side.

Michelle was born in Kingston, Jamaica, the first child of Nolia and Everard Hoo.

She graduated from Alpha Academy and in 1975, left her family to pursue her degree in Psychology at McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario.

The family would later join her when they immigrated and settled in Toronto in 1978.

Michelle worked many years in administrative roles with pharmaceutical and non-profit organizations. For the last 15 years, she found great joy as an Administrative Assistant at West Scarborough Community Legal Services, where she provided support services for new immigrants and others needing legal aid.

In her quiet life, Michelle loved going for seafood dinners and to special occasion gatherings of her large extended family. She loved flowers and was an avid “bookworm” and television and movie lover. Michelle was a walking encyclopedia (excluding sports and technical data) and would be your “Go-To person” if you needed to call someone when stumped on "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire".

Michelle is survived by her loving mother Nolia, brothers Stewart and Gerry, nephews Kevin (Vianna), Duane (Gabriela), Nicholas, niece Kira, grandniece Sofia, grandnephew Zane, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her father Everard and nephew Blake.

Visitation and funeral for Michelle will be held at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home and Cremation Centr, Markham on October 12, 2021, starting at 4pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to "Go Fund Me". https://gofund.me/767145a.
