Carboni SergioCARBONI, Sergio - Passed away at the age of 84 on October 28, 2021 peacefully of heart failure after a long battle with heart, kidney, lung, disease with his daughter Marisa and grandson Christopher by his side.

Sergio was born on May 10,1937 in Pesaro, Mondolfo, Italy. At the age of 16 he travelled to Canada with his mom, Bruna brother Avio, sister Nadia for 9 days by ship to land in Halifax on April 1 1954.

They took the train to Toronto to meet his dad, Guiseppe who was already in Canada, and began his life here as a plasterman since he could not attend school as he had to help his parents.

Sergio married his beloved wife Rita on August 24, 1963. And they had 3 beautiful children, Marisa, Silvana and Rick. Rita passed away after a long battle with cancer on September 23, 1997.

Sergio was a man of integrity and honour and would never hurt a soul. Sergio was a kind, generous simple man whose only priority in his life was his family. He loved, adored, and cherished his children and grandchildren, and was definitely the best nonno ever.

He will be sadly missed by his daughter Marisa (husband Silvio), grandson Christopher and Michael. His daughter Silvana, Granddaughter Jessica, Grandson Christian. His son Rick (wife Maryann) Grandson Sebastian.

Everyone in the family was always so kind to Sergio, but there are 2 people worth noting that were very special to Sergio. His sister Nadia never went a day without talking to her brother for hours. His brother in law, Alfredo was always so incredibly kind to him, visited & called Sergio regularly, along with bringing Zia Sisa’s famous baked goods which he appreciated so much always being thought of by them.

A special thanks to the staff at Villa Leonardo Gambin where Sergio moved to after years of so many long stays at the hospital, being unable to walk anymore & confined to a wheelchair and developing Parkinson’s Disease. The staff was exceptional, always so kind and caring and did absolutely everything they could to make Sergio so comfortable and happy there. He was the envy of all the residents with his 60 inch tv which he insisted he had to have with him.

Sergio was a very smart man, always aware of everything, and communicated his thoughts and feelings in great detail to everyone until he let out his last breath and closed his eyes. He will be sadly missed.

We will always love you and never forget your loving eyes, wet kisses, your wisdom and your daily speeches on worldly advice and guidance on life for your children and grandchildren.

Sergio will finally be happily reunited with his beloved wife Rita, as ever since she passed away, he has never been the same without her.

Rest in peace dad, you always made me so proud to be your daughter, you did good in this world.

Visitation will be held at DeMarco Funeral Home, Toronto on Friday, November 5th, 2021 from 4:00pm - 9:00pm. The service will take place at St. Wilfrid's Roman Catholic Church, 1675 Finch Ave., Toronto on Saturday, November 6th, 2021 at 11:00am.
