FRANCIS, Mary Barbara (nee GEMMELL) - 1934 - 2021 It is with heavy hearts we wish to announce that Mary Francis passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at the age of 87.
Mary was born in Hamilton, Ontario on June 9, 1934.
Predeceased by her parents, Margaret and Stanley Gemmell and her late husband Lloyd Francis.
Survived by her brother Hugh Gemmell (and his wife Shirley) and Mary's 3 children, Catherine, Eleanor and Ralph and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends who hold dear their fond memories of the time they shared with Mary.
Mary passed away at the Carlingwood Retirement Community in Ottawa where she lived for the past 5 years.
A special thank you to the staff at the Carlingwood Retirement home for their amazing care and compassion, in taking care of Mary. Also, a heartfelt thank you to a close family friend, Lorna Kennedy, who stayed by Mary's side until her passing.
A private memorial will take place on November 16th at Capital Funeral Hom. The service will be live streamed, as well.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke foundation would be appreciated.
