SMIT, Martje 'Marsha' - It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Marsha on Saturday December 4, 2021 at the age of 87.
Marsha is now reunited in heaven with her loving parents Geertje and Sytze.
Marsha was the loving wife of Tjeerd. She was the cherished mother of Edna (George Voogd), Margaret (John Bloemendal) and Martin (Patricia). Marsha’s legacy will live on forever in the hearts and memories of her 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Coming from a large family, she was one of 11 children.
Marsha was a woman with many interests and passions. Most of all Marsha, loved and adored her family and would relish in spending time with them. She was very active in volunteering. She loved going for walks, camping and travelling. Marsha would spend hours knitting and baking special treats for all to enjoy.
She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all her family and friends in Canada, the Netherlands and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the nursing staff at Grace Manor of Holland Christian Homes for the care and compassion shown to Marsha and the family.
