Peavy JudithPEAVY, Judith Koltai   -

1937 - 2024

Our loving and loved Judith Koltai Peavy passed away peacefully, in her sleep on January 29, 2024.

She leaves behind her only son, Tom Koltai; her stepdaughters, Ursula Peavy and Erica Peavy Blue; her sister, Zsuzsa Gaspar; and niece, Anna Donath; her grandchildren, Jonathan Koltai, AND Dylan Koltai; and her adoptive grandson, Tyler Goin; her step-grandchildren, Christopher and Hannah Barriatua, Courtney Blue and David Blue; and her step-great-grandchildren, Justin, Jacqueline, Carter, Juniper, and Theodore.

She was predeceased by her truly extraordinary husband, Dr. R. Vance Peavy; her stepson, Richard Peavy; and her granddaughter, Danika Koltai.

A huge measure of gratitude to Dawn Sutherland, Cheryl Alexander, Megan McLeod, and Mary Green, all of whom supported Judith with immeasurable love, care, dignity, and diligence through the last chapters of her life. Judith was born in Hungary in 1937.

Her childhood and early education were spent in that country during the years of war and occupation. In 1956, she fled to Sweden. There, while a refugee working and raising her son, she also trained as an actor and completed the major part of a Master's degree in French literature.

She immigrated to Canada in 1964 and is a citizen of Canada, Sweden and the European Union. Judith had a truly extraordinary professional life.

You are invited to explore her achievements at her website: https://www.embodiedpractice-judithkoltai.com/aboutjudithkoltai  Throughout this extraordinary life, Judith was a loving and caring mother, wife, grandmother, and friend to so many.

To ask what those that loved her should do. Judith's likely response would be to: love, sing, dance, read voraciously, and to be true to yourself. Information regarding a celebration of life, likely to be in the Spring, will follow.
