DURST, James Joseph - In his 81st year, husband of Jo-Anne for almost 57 years, father of Jeanne McMullen (Scott) and Laura Lum (Tom), grandfather of Christie, Rachel and Daniel. Dog "dad" of Reggie.
Jim was a wonderful son, uncle, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend who lived for his home and family.
Jim was proud to work for CIL - ICI - York Works and as a dog-walker and house-sitter extraordinaire in his retirement years.
Jim was predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Edna Durst and his siblings Carl, Doris (Hall), Lorne and Don. He is survived by his sister-in-law Alice.
Jim passed away peacefully on Friday, July 20, 2018 with his family by his side, after a long, courageous battle with numerous health problems.
He was loved by all and will be sadly missed.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Jim's life will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre, 37 Toronto. Friends and family can gather at 11:00 a.m., service will be held at 11:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
