Wilcox ElizabethWILCOX, Elizabeth "Berry"  - October 6, 1928 - November 17, 2018

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother Elizabeth Wilcox, at the age of 90, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She passed on at home with daughter Debbie and Debbie's husband Dave at her bedside.

Known to friends and family as Betty, she was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, the youngest of six siblings to Thomas and Elizabeth Carson.

Growing up, her interests were numerous and diverse from music, especially the Montreal jazz scene of the day and the likes of Oscar Peterson and Maynard Ferguson, fashion and sewing, visual arts and travel.

She loved to cook, entertain, was a voracious reader, possessed an insatiable curiosity and a keen sense of humour. Betty met her husband, John, when the two worked within the same office building in Montreal.

They married in 1955 and soon after started their family. By 1961 they were a family of 5 with children: Elizabeth, John and newborn Deborah and had moved to Toronto. Her love and devotion as a wife, mother and grandmother was unconditional. Betty's love and delight for her pets and all animals was also well known.

In later years she took part in art classes, studied Japanese flower arrangement, supported community theatre and remained the quintessential hostess to every Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter and birthday celebration. Betty was predeceased by her husband John and daughter Elizabeth and survived by her son John (Mai), daughter Debbie (Dave), grandson Mackenzie and a number of other loving relatives and close friends. She will be greatly missed and always remembered by those fortunate enough to have known her.

A special thank you to the nurses and PSWs that provided her care and comfort.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place in the Spring, a season she adored.
