LYGDAS, Athanasia B. - Athanasia age 84, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 31, 2018.
From her birth in Athens, Greece, on July 23, 1934 to her passing on Monday, she nourished people around her with love, faith and laughter.
She is survived by her beloved husband Basile Lygdas, daughter Effi and son-in-law Stan and son Thomas and daughter-in-law Patrizia.
She will always be the cherished "yiayia" to grandchildren Stephen, Bill and Sophia.
She was predeceased by her brothers Manoli and Yianni and survived by her brother Giorgio. Athanasia will be deeply missed by her family, extended family, friends and by all those whose lives she touched.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, January 6, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Heritage Funeral Centre, 50 Overlea Boulevard. Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 7, 2019, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 30 Thorncliffe Park Drive. Interment to follow.
