Mactaggart WilliamMACTAGGART, William Grant  - Of Guelph/Eramosa Township

December 28, 1940 – December 23, 2018

Sadly as a result of a car accident, with his loving family by his side, Bill died peacefully at Hamilton Health ICU.

Beloved husband of Leslie (nee Hurst), loving father of Lisa (Leo Medeiros); Will (Michele); Ryan (Kelly) and step-father of Mike Hryn (Nicole).

Bill was the proud Grandpa of Levi and Denya Medeiros, William and Esme, Fynn and Ainsley and Holden and Clint Hryn.

Dear brother of Evelyn Farr (late Bruce) and John (Bonnie) and loved uncle to many nieces and nephews and their partners. Dear son-in-law of Doris Hurst.

Bill was born in King Township to Pearl and Fergus Mactaggart and it was on his family farm where he established his lifetime love of farming and raising animals. He graduated from Victoria College, (University of Toronto) in 1963 and was awarded "The Prince Philip" Gold Medal for the highest standing in general science.

Please join us in a celebration of Bill's life on Sunday, January 13th at the Cutten Fields, 190 College Ave. E., in Guelph from 1-4 p.m.

Our family would like to thank all those who cared for Bill in his last days and continue to care for us as we adjust to the devastating absence of our dynamo Dad and loving husband.

To honour Bill's legacy, our family would like to establish a scholarship fund for students at the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph.

In lieu of flowers or other tributes, please direct donations to The Guelph Community Foundation in memory of Bill Mactaggart. The Guelph Community Foundation, 46 Cork Street East, Guelph, Ontario N1H 2W8.
