Hanbidge RobertHANBIDGE, Robert (Bob) John  - Bob passed away peacefully at Dorothy Ley Hospice in Toronto on February 5, 2018, in his 92nd year.

He will be greatly missed by his daughters Sue (Richard Harris) and Ellen (Peter Harris) and his grandchildren Carolyn (Bruce Harpham), David, Scott and Mandy.

Bob is survived by his sister Shirley Hayward and his sisters-in-law Audrey Hanbidge, Cath Jacques and Molly Jacques as well as many nephews and nieces.

Bob was predeceased by his dear wife of 45 years, Ida (Jacques), in 1997. He was also predeceased by his parents Fred and Eva (Thede), his brothers Leith and Hank and his sister Helen Dutton. Born in Dobbinton, ON in 1926, Bob loved Grey and Bruce Counties and particularly his cottage at Sauble Beach.

He took up the trombone while in high school in Owen Sound and continued to play enthusiastically in 'big bands' well into his 80s. In business, Bob was Co-Owner of Harrison and Hanbidge Insurance Brokers, along with his good friend Rae Harrison.

A Memorial Service for Bob will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Bob's church, Mimico Presbyterian, 119 Mimico Avenue, at the corner of Royal York Road in Etobicoke. 

Expressions of remembrance to Dorothy Ley Hospice would be appreciated.

The family appreciates the staff at Dorothy Ley Hospice for their compassionate care, as well as Mimico Presbyterian Church and Downs and Son Funeral Home for their assistance and support.
