Ireland KatherineIRELAND, Katherine (nee PRICE)  - Peacefully on April 6, 2018 at Sunnybrook Veterans Home, just shy of her 96th birthday.

Predeceased by her husband George Wilson Ireland and son Jonathan Michael Ireland, Kay is loved and will be very much missed by her children Barbara, Patricia, Robert and Katherine, son-in-law Sheldon Teicher and her grandchildren Stephanie Ireland, Lara Ireland, Jessica Teicher and Kari Teicher.

Born in Petty Harbour, Newfoundland, Kay joined the Canadian Army in 1942 in Halifax.

After her service, she and George lived briefly in Montreal before settling in the countryside in Milton, Ontario. Kay worked for many years with Red Leaf Nurseries as the bookkeeper and office manager. George died in 1983 and Kay soon moved to Toronto to be close to her five children.

Living in a lovely bungalow in East York, Kay spent lots of time with her children and grandchildren and tending to her beautiful garden.

A service to honour Kay will be held at Morley Bedford Funeral Home, 159 Eglinton Ave. W., Toronto, on Monday, April 9th at 11:00 a.m. followed by a reception.  A private family interment will follow at Omagh Presbyterian Cemetery in Milton, ON.

Our sincere thanks to the staff at Sunnybrook Veterans Home, especially Esmina, for taking such good care of our wonderful mom. Donations to the Sunnybrook Veterans Home would be greatly appreciated.
