McMACKON, Mary Christine (LONG) - July 24, 1929 - April 26, 2018
Allyson, Ian and Jennifer McMackon would like to announce the passing of their mom, Mary (Long) McMackon.
Mary was predeceased by her husband, William Frederick McMackon and her parents, Christine (Mackay) Long and George Galley Long.
A graduate of the University of Toronto (1951), she was a devoted mother and an awesome person.
She loved dogs and cats and all the creatures of the natural world.
She enjoyed nothing more than turning the car down a road toward a hidden beach or the promise of a country flea market.
She put geranium leaves in the apple jelly.
She made wicked spaghetti carbonara and the world's best shortbread cookies.
To everything there is a season…and a time for every purpose under heaven.
Words of remembrance will be spoken by the family at a private ceremony.
