MALANCHUK, Joan Margaret - October 15, 1927 - May 29, 2018
In her 91st year, doing it her way and on her timelines, Mom chose to die with dignity on May 29, 2018.
Holding Boris' hand, her husband of almost 69 years, and surrounded by the love of her family, her daughters Jo-Anne Sudbury (Dave), Kathy Malanchuk (Howard Green), Julie Mraz (Steve) and her grandchildren Jenn (Nabil), Paul, Luke (Amanda), Tara (John), Spencer (Zara), Carter and Paige, Mom started her next journey.
Carrying with her in her heart are her beloved great-grandchildren, Nash, Dawson, Freya and Ayela. Mom's greatest pride and joy were all her children.
So many hours were spent watching figure skating, hockey, soccer, baseball, any sport or activity her kids or grandkids were into.
The second joy in her life was her 35 years as a volunteer at Mackenzie Health and the incredible friendships she made and has kept close to her heart all these years. Mom, you will be greatly missed by all, but just knowing you are now free of all the constraints of the health issues you have suffered through these past years, we can't help but smile and wish you safe travels.
Our sincere thanks and gratitude to Dr. Rogakou and the staff of the 3rd Floor MSK unit at Southlake Regional Health Centre for all of their care and compassion over the last 2 ½ years.
Family and Friends may call at Taylor Funeral Home, 524 Davis Drive, Newmarket. Visitation on Friday, June 1, 2018 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Joan's Life at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel.
