Kowaltchuk KatherineKOWALTCHUK, Katherine  - It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our beloved mother Katherine at Humber River Hospital on July 19, 2018 in her 94th year.

She is now reunited with her husband Stephan after 30 years.

She will be missed greatly by her daughter Nadia and husband Domenic, her son Bill and wife Halya, her grandchildren Juliana (Liv Rolf), Olivia (Bjoern), Diana (Kevin), Adam and Alexa and her great-grandchildren Aurelia, Gabriella and Lilliana.

Katherine, formerly Raissa Fedotov was born in Eastern Ukraine under the Soviets where her family suffered greatly.

During WWII, she was taken by the Nazis to work on a farm in Bavaria and never saw her family again.

Luckily, she met and married our father Stephan and after the war moved to Belgium and then to Canada where they started a new life.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at Cardinal Funeral Home. at 92 Annette St. The funeral service will be held the next day on July 26th at 10 a.m. at St. Demetrius the Great Martyr Ukrainian Catholic Church on 135 La Rose Ave.
