Peacefully, on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at Extendicare Kawartha Lakes, at age 93. Hendrika van Shaik, lovingly known as Ria, beloved wife of Reyer van Schaik. Loved mother of Roger (Penny), Henry (Leslie), Lenore (Steve, predeceased), Robert (Mary), Charlie (Linda), Richard (Teresa), and Jeffrey (Nicole). Cherished Oma of 27 grandchildren, and 37 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her grandson Richard.

The family of Hendrika van Schaik will receive friends at the THORNE FUNERAL HOME, 109 Laidlaw Street South in Cannington (705-432-2672) on Thursday, October 9^th from 2 – 4 p.m. & 6 – 8 p.m. A service to celebrate her life will be held at Woodville United Church, 104 King Street in Woodville on Friday, October 10^th at 1:30 p.m. Interment at McIndoo’s Cemetery.
