With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Don Roberts.
Donald George Roberts was born Oct 14 1930 in New Brunswick to Fred and Clementine Roberts. The family moved to Redrock Ontario when Don was 12, and lived there until he started a 5 year stint with the Air Force.
He eventually settled in Richmond British Colombia where he met his wife Gloria, (now deceased)and raised their children.
Don worked as a mechanic for the Dept of Transport until he retired in 1989. He met his second wife, Joanna, in 1987 and they returned to Oshawa Ontario in 1991.
Don leaves behind his spouse of 38 years, Joanna, his 5 children: Donna, Carrie, Shannon, Janette and Daryl and his 12 grandchildren.
Don is survived by his stepchildren Martin (Cindy) and Lesley (Sarah). Survived also by many step grandchildren as well as several great grandchildren .
Dear brother to Byron and the late Lyman and Ken.
Don loved airplanes, cars, music and dancing. He had many years of good health, traveling, and wintering in Florida.
The family would like to thank Bay Ridges nursing home in Pickering for the wonderful care he received in his final days.
As per Don’s request, there will be no funeral.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MS Society.
