George Masur

The memory of George Masur of Stratford, Ontario, who passed away on January 9, 2026 at the age of 94, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his wife Beatrice “Yvonne”; his parents, Alex Masur and Alice Masur; his siblings, Lucian, Jerry, Gregory, Art, Brian and Dorothy; his siblings-in-law, Bernard, Kaz, Larry, Bill, Bob, Tina, Irene, Betty, Sister Patricia, Deanie, Monica and Shawn; and his parents-in-law, William and Kathleen.

He is survived by: his daughters, Sonja Kerekes, Sherry Masur-Smith (Paul) and Donna Lobsinger (Mark); his grandchildren, Evan (Kristin), Briar, Mckenna (Will), Bryn (Bridget) and Jenna (Jake); his sisters, Barbara, Edna and Carolyn; and his sisters-in-law, Rita and Marie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 15th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the W. G. Young Funeral Home (430 Huron St, Stratford, ON N5A5T7). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, January 16th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joseph’s Church (96 Huron St, Stratford, ON N5A5S6). A reception will be held on Friday, January 16th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the W. G. Young Funeral Home Reception Centre (430 Huron St, Stratford, ON N5A5T7).

Memorial donations in George’s memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Canada or the Alzheimer Society of Perth County.
