She was born on November 2, 1934, to Gertrude and Herbert Pearce in St Paul, Alberta, hospital, sister to older brothers Donald and Ken. Lillian passed away on November 16, 2025, with grace and dignity. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Rex, and Karen Marshall; children Chris Moffitt, Frank (Wendy) Marshall, and Bruce Marshall; grandchildren David (Erin), Christine, Jennifer (Richard), Andrea (Scott), Erin (Colin), Brent (Kara), and Kathryn (Alex); great-grandchildren Emma and Riley, Lily and Hanna, Illi, Eva, and BJ, Jack and Will, Kate, Zach and Lena, Ellie and Charlie. Lillian was predeceased by husband Dennis (d 2021), daughter Brenda (d 2014), and son-in-law Syd Moffit (d September 2025).
In the mid-1930s, Lillian’s family moved from Owlseye (St Paul area) to Edson, and she spoke of many fond memories and stories of growing up there. It was at Edson High School that she met her future husband, Dennis Marshall. Married in 1951, employment opportunities took them to many places while raising their family: Jasper, Edmonton, High Level, Yellowknife, Stony Plain, Slave Lake, Lethbridge, and Inuvik before finally retiring in Peachland in the mid-1980s.
In the Okanagan years, Mom and Dad found, treasured, and enjoyed the many long-lived friendships from the past Yellowknife days, and the new ones from the Peachland Anglican Church, Peachland Variety Singers, and service groups such as Eastern Star and the Masonic lodge. Mom and Dad also often reflected on how much fun they had over the years with the ‘Six-pack-group’.
Mom and Dad’s Peachland location has many great family memories for us all: holidays in summer with all the beaches, fall Okanagan fruit harvest season, fall Bazarres, and many a Christmas! Always with Mom’s love and joy of family and friends, while making the most amazing feasts for us all, she will be greatly missed!
Lillian’s children would like to acknowledge and thank all of Mom’s friends from St Margaret’s Anglican Church; Peachland Variety singers; Eastern Star; and friends in Crystal Springs, West Kelowna, for their love and support for Mom over the years, and especially the last 2 weeks here at her home. Her wish was not to have a funeral, but to be able to visit and say goodbye to her friends and family here at home prior to her passing. We are grateful that Mom was able to enjoy all her final wishes.
