Alice Mary Philbrick

January 1, 1927 – November 11, 2025

Smiling elderly person in outdoor setting

It is with great love and sadness that we announce the passing of Alice Mary Philbrick in her 99th year.
Alice was a devoted wife to Alan, mother to Wayne, Gerald (Kim), Lyn, Marty (Brenda), Garth (Sandra) and Ian (Tish). She was a loving grandmother to Michael (Sharon), Justin, Amanda, Melanie, Avia (Scott), Leah (Brandon) Craig (Shellie), Sarah (Steve), Matthew (Lesley) Carly (Sterling) and Alicia (Brandon). Great grandmother to 24 children and friend to many whose kindness and creativity touched the lives of all who knew her. A long-time member of Vineland United Church, Alice found joy in her faith community and in giving back to others. She also spent many years working with Rick Rittenhouse Auctions, where her friendly nature and sharp eye made her a valued part of the team.
Alice had a gift for words and shared it generously—she was known for writing heartfelt poems to mark birthdays, anniversaries, and special occasions for those she loved. Her poetry captured her warmth, humour, and deep appreciation for life’s simple joys.
She was a proud supporter of her family’s many sports endeavours and a loyal fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and Hamilton Tiger-Cats, never missing a chance to cheer them on. Alice loved the outdoors and found peace in gardening, birdwatching, and spending time with her beloved dogs, who were constant companions throughout her life.
Alice’s legacy lives on through the love she gave, the poems she penned, and the memories she created with family and friends.
