Evelyn Mary McBeth

September 15, 2025

Collage of elderly woman in various settings.

Passed away peacefully on Monday, September 15 at 11:10 p.m. at Hillsdale Estates in Oshawa.

In Heaven, she will be reunited with her beloved husband Ken McBeth (1996), her son Douglas (2024), her parents Richard and Elsie Clarke, her brother Jack Clarke, and her sisters Helen Monty and Jean Paine.

Evelyn will be deeply missed by her daughters Dianna McBeth (Al) and Nancy Hodder; her cherished grandchildren Jenny (Thomas), Katy, Darren, Carolyn (Daniel), Graham, and Colin; and her adored great-grandchildren Kaylee and Devin. She is also lovingly remembered by her in-laws Cecil and Lucille McBeth, and by many nieces and nephews on both sides of the family.

Born and raised in the Toronto area, Evelyn lived a joyful and fulfilling life surrounded by those she loved. She was famously voted as having the best legs at Deer Lodge while on her honeymoon—a memory that never failed to bring smiles.

She will be remembered for her kindness, her sweet and witty nature, her wonderful sense of humor, and her devotion as a mother and grandmother. Evelyn was also a fantastic cook—her chili, spaghetti sauce, and pies were nothing short of legendary.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the incredible nurses, PSWs, and support staff on Primrose Path at Hillsdale Estates for their exceptional care and compassion. Thank you for sharing your treasured “Evelyn stories” with us—especially the one about her briefly dating Frank Sinatra, and breaking it off because “the fame went to his head.”

A private interment for immediate family will take place at a later date.
