Peacefully, with family at her side, at the age of 91, Leni Vander Kooy was called to glory on September 12, 2025. Loving wife of Arie Vander Kooy for nearly 53 years, until his passing in 2008. Mother to George & Carolyn, Gwen & Ken Bosveld, Joanne & Luther Andree, Brenda & Paul DeGroot and Neil. Oma to Brandon (Amy), Tara (Chris), Travis, Rachel (Kyle), Michelle, Brad (Mandy), Leanne (Colin), Adelle (Phil), Alyssa (Jesse), Stacey (Mitch), Rowan and Marlow. Great-Oma to 20: Brooklyn, Lily, Zoey, Charlotte, Levi, Max, Audrey, Axell, Parker, Nora, Kenzie, Carter, Andrew, Lacey, Delia, Scarlett, Rylie, Locklyn, Hailey and Layla. Sister to George & Carol DeBruyn, and predeceased by Kees DeBruyn, Corrie Roemer and Gerda Huizinga.

Leni will also be missed by the Vander Kooy family.

Leni was born in Leimuiden, Netherlands in 1934 and immigrated to Canada in 1951. She married Arie in 1955 and they later built Vander Kooy Greenhouses in Flamborough. Retirement years were spent in a new house built on the same property, spending time with family and travelling.

Special thanks to the staff at Shalom Manor and Gardens who took such loving care of our mother for more than 8 years. Donations to Shalom would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Saturday, October 4, 2025 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at CALVIN CHRISTIAN REFORMED CHURCH, 420 Hwy. 5, Dundas. Interment will take place on Monday, October 6, 2025 at 9:45 a.m. at Garden Lane Cemetery. Friends and family are welcome. Following the Interment, a Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at CALVIN CHRISTIAN REFORMED CHURCH (livestream available), followed by a luncheon in the fellowship hall.
