Born in Canora, Saskatchewan, Richard “Rick” Matsalla passed away on May 29, 2026, at Kelowna General Hospital in Kelowna, British Columbia, at the age of 78.
Rick is survived by his loving daughters, Raelene Norton (Jim) and Jolene Hauck (Tim); brothers Al (Marg) and Gerald (Dee); sister Gloria (Clarence); as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.
Rick’s greatest joy in life was being a father. He deeply loved his girls and treasured the many weekends spent together creating memories, sharing laughter, and enjoying life’s simple moments. Of all the milestones he experienced, the proudest and most meaningful moments of his life were walking both of his daughters down the aisle on their wedding days. His love, support, and devotion to his family will be remembered always.
He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Susan Matsalla; brothers David and Raymond; and his nephew Jonathan.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at 3:00 PM (PDT), at 22-5432 Chidley Road, Peachland, BC.
