MALUSKE, Barbara Maluske

She passed away peacefully at Brightshores Health System on April 7, 2026. Born in Walkerton on July 24, 1948, Barbara Ann Maluske (nee Kunkel/Simpson) of Owen Sound, was in her 78th year.

Beloved wife and best friend of Douglas Maluske. Dear sister of Gail McKibbon and Bill Simpson (Sandy) of Owen Sound, Lynn Leighton (Bob) of Elmira, Carol Rankin (Ray) of Wellesley, Carey Simpson (Anne), Betty Simpson, all of Owen Sound, Kirby Simpson of Picton, Michael Simpson (Debbie) of Guelph, Susan Mosher (Hank) of Bonfield, Debbie Aiken (Murray) of Allenford, Jacqui Perry of West Bank, B.C., Lori Morton (Dale) of Sauble Beach, Peter Simpson (Belinda) of Owen Sound, Rob Simpson of Park Head, Sandra Shipley (Joe) of Wiarton, Jim Simpson of Windsor, and her sister-in-law Debra Simpson of Owen Sound. Barbara will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Predeceased by her parents Jerome Stephen Kunkel, Lloyd and Verna Simpson (nee Graff), her brother Jerry Simpson, her sisters Kathy Simpson and Donna Whiteman (Wayne), and brothers-in-law Ron McKibbon and Jim Perry.

In keeping with Barbara’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private graveside service at Greenwood Cemetery will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492.
