MOCAN, Nikola Moćan

It is with broken hearts and sadness that we announce the passing of Nikola, a loving husband, father and dida on July 27, 2026, at the age of 81. Beloved husband to Milka (nee Cindrić) with whom he celebrated 60 years of blessed marriage.  Loving and devoted father to Mark Moćan of Windsor, Ivan Moćan and common-law spouse, Lizzy Archer of Windsor, Nick Moćan and wife Crystal of Eden Mills, ON. Cherished and adored Dida to Jakob, Olivia, Caitlin, Evan, Abigail, Elisabeth, and Oliver. Dear brother to Ivan Moćan and late wife Marija (2025), late Dragica Muretti and husband Glavko (2025), late Jure Moćan, Anka Vrbanić and late husband Ivica, Roza Šimleša and husband Franjo, Milka Paulić and husband Nikola, and late Pero Moćan. Mr. Moćan was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Church. Nikola retired from Chrysler Canada after 24 years of dedicated service and was a member of Unifor Local 444. He was a die-hard and loyal Toronto Maple Leaf fan. In his retirement he enjoyed going for long walks and bike rides and taking care of his lawn. Nikola’s greatest pride and joy in his life was his beloved family, especially his grandchildren. A heartfelt and sincere thank you to the staff at the Hospice of Windsor, St. Elizabeth Healthcare nurse, Celia Correia and family doctor, Laura Voltić for their compassionate and exceptional care provided to Nikola.  Friends will be received at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519) 253-7234, for visitation on Friday, July 31, 2026 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.. Parish prayers at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service on Saturday, August 1st, 2026 at 9:45 a.m. in procession from the funeral home then to St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church for Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy and to honour Nikola, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Windsor & Essex County or St. Francis of Assisi Church Building Fund.
