GREEN, Agnes Marie Green
April 20, 1938 - April 12, 2026
With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well lived, we remember Agnes Green, a devoted mother, grandmother, beloved wife, and generous soul who passed away surrounded by love.
First and always, AgnesββBuzzββwas dedicated, fiercely and selflessly, to her children: Kevin, Paul, and Marie; her grandchildren, Joey and Patrick; and her siblings: the late Elizabeth βTouneβ Castilloux, the late Lucille Dagenais, Claudette Armitage (late Bazil), Noella Santerre (late AndrΓ©), Louise Tessier (late Guy), and the late Marcel Arcand. Daughter of the late Γmile Arcand and Laurenza (Renaud). She was the steady heartbeat of her home, offering unwavering support, strength, and kindness to those she loved. Her family was her greatest pride, and she expressed that love through thoughtful actions, quiet sacrifices, and an enduring presence that made everyone feel cared for and valued.
As a teenager, born and raised in Cache Bay ON, Agnes earned a little money babysittingβand quickly became the sitter of choice. When parents returned from an evening out, they found not only their children tucked safely into bed, but also the dishes done and the house βspic and span.β Later, she went to work in Chalk River, where she met Gorman. It was love at first sight.
Agnes Marie Green was married to the love of her life for 65 remarkable years, building a life together in Deep River, Sudbury, Pembroke, and Whitby. Their marriage was a testament to commitment, partnership, and enduring affectionβa true example of love that grows richer with time.
Service to others came naturally to Agnes. She believed in doing good wherever she could, often without recognition or fanfare. Whether through small, thoughtful gestures or generous acts of support, she made a meaningful impact in the lives of many.
Summers held a special place in her heart, spent at the family cottage in Deep River, ON. There, she found joy in lifeβs simple pleasuresβthe beauty of nature, the comfort of familiar routines – campfires, puzzles, quilting, cards, reading, and cherished moments with family and friends. Those summers along the Ottawa River became treasured memories for all who shared them with her.
Agnes took great pride in her home, caring for it with intention and love. It reflected the warmth and order she brought to all aspects of her life. Her thoughtfulness was evident in everything she did, leaving behind a legacy of care, generosity, and quiet grace.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. A celebration of life will be held in the summer in Cache Bay, ON.
