KINGELIN, Cameron Francis Kingelin
October 4, 1945 - July 9, 2026He passed away at the age of 80 on Thursday, July 9th, with his loving wife Donna by his side.
Beloved father to Kris, Danielle, Sarah, Sheena, Kayla, and Cameron, he was also a proud Grandpa β “Papa Cam” β to 13 adored grandchildren.
Cameron Francis Kingelin was a die-hard sports fan, especially of the Toronto Maple Leafs. (Sorry Chuck!) However, he was happy to watch any team as long as sports were on the TV. He became chauffeur to his kids’ sports careers, and was always their biggest fan on the sidelines.
Cam was a self-proclaimed chef specializing in chicken nuggets, corn and his infamous mashed potatoes! Cam loved family dinners and gatherings β and he never let a pie or dessert go to waste.
Camβs greatest passion was music. Any surface became his drum set, and melodies were always playing in the house. Cam was an incredible singer; no note too high, no harmony out of reach. Countless New Year’s Eves were rung in by Cam and the band, with many songs dedicated to Donna; his love, and his four daughterβs.
Cam lit up any room he walked into, making a fun and friendly space for everyone. Strangers became friends and friends became family. He was kind, witty, and charismatic to all. He was always ready to show the grandkids how he could pull off his finger, and no matter how old they got, he would still do his favourite trick followed by his famous line, βIβve got your nose!β a stunt that will remain a core memory for them forever.
Cam loved to travel, enjoying many trips to Florida with stops at Cracker Barrel, Olive Garden, and of course, Hooters. Even though Florida was filled with fun, his favourite spot was the Bahamas. There he and Donna would spend a month at a time, welcoming family who came and went throughout their stay.
Those who knew Cam will remember him as βthe man, the myth, the legendβ. He leaves behind a legacy of music, laughter, and a reminder to all that kindness always wins.
A celebration of life will be held at Solina Community Hall, Sunday, August 30th from 2pm-4pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Parkinsonβs Society or a charity of your choice!
