BURK, Donald Burk
November 29, 1960 - June 17, 2026It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Don Burk, who died peacefully on June 17, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.
Donald Burk was known as Papa, Dad, Donny, Burk, Uncle Don, and Burkey. He shared a life filled with love and laughter with his sweetie, Yvonne Grenier. Their bond was built on love, loyalty, and a lifetime of cherished memories. They were each other’s greatest source of strength, comfort, and companionship.
Don was the proud father of Bea Burk and Jean Grenier, a beloved father-in-law to Michelle Labelle-Grenier and the adoring Papa of Trinity and Lacey Grenier. They were the center of his world, and he took great pride in watching them grow and celebrating their accomplishments.
He was predeceased by his parents, Patricia Burk and Don Burk. He will be deeply missed by his siblings, Doug Burk, Ken Burk, Darlene Robinson, Tim Burk, and the late Colleen Grace, along with their spouses, as well as his many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Don had a gift for making people feel welcome. He could make you laugh when you least expected it, offer a helping hand without being asked, and leave a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Whether on the golf course or surrounded by family and friends, Don was happiest when sharing good times with the people he loved.
In his final days, the outpouring of love shown to Don and our family was overwhelming. The visits, stories, tears, and hugs reminded us how many lives he touched and how deeply he was loved.
Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that Don’s legacy lives on through his family, friendships, and cherished memories.
Words can not fully express our gratitude to the many doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals at Espanola Regional Hospital, the exceptional palliative care team, and Bayshore staff who cared for Don throughout his journey. Their compassion, kindness, and dedication surrounded him with dignity and comfort while also embracing our family and friends with unwavering support. In a time filled with heartbreak, they provided not only exceptional care but also comfort, strength, and peace. Their gentle words, caring hands, and genuine humanity helped carry us through the darkest of days, and for that, we will be forever grateful.
A celebration of Don’s life will be announced at a later date.
