MAWBY, Jean Madeline Mawby

Passed away peacefully at Matthews House Hospice on July 27th, 2026. Jean was the daughter of the late Fred and Edie (Edith) Robinson of Potter’s Bar, England and was born on September 3rd, 1937 in London, England.

Jean Madeline Mawby was the loving wife of Raymond (Ray) Mawby and proud mother of two sons Philip (Kelly) Mawby and Richard (Sandra) Mawby. Jean loved her family and enjoyed gardening, preparing delicious family meals and camping in the Ontario Provincial Parks with her family. She was a kind attentive mother to her sons and a beloved Grandma who loved to read stories and play dress up with the grand children when they were little and enjoyed a good game of Rummy-O and Scrabble with Ray and the children. And there was always time for a friendly cup of tea and a chat. She also cherished her family in the UK and enjoyed corresponding and visiting with them often over the years with Ray for family weddings, reunions and other occasions.

She will be greatly missed by her husband Raymond of nearly 66 years, Son: Philip (Kelly) Mawby of Saint John, NB, Son: Richard (Sandra) Mawby of Alliston, ON, grand children: Brittney (Andrew) Frazer, Haley Jean Mawby, Ashley (Miguel) Best, Adam Ray Mawby, Sophia Mawby, great grand children: Ariella, Milo and Owen as well as several nieces and nephews. Jean was pre-deceased by her parents and brother Alan (Janet) Robinson.

Arrangements are under the care of Drury Funeral Centre, 519 Victoria St. E., Alliston, ON L9R 1K1, 705-435-3535. The Memorial Service for Jean will be held at Drury Funeral Centre on Friday July 31st, 2026 at 1PM.
