Passed away peacefully at Oak Ridges Hospice, Port Perry on Monday, August 11th, 2025, in his 101st year. Predeceased by his beloved wife Mary of 63 years. Loving father of Rodney and his daughter-in-law Patti, his two adored grandsons Jason (Nicole) and Tim (Samantha). Cherished great grandfather of Jack, Diana, Charlie and Cameron. Predeceased by his eldest son Vernon Roy Douglas. Thank you to the staff at Livita Centennial Retirement Residence and the care team at Oak Ridges Hospice, Port Perry, for their excellent care.
A visitation for Vernon will be held Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West, Oshawa, followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 10:30 AM. A committal service will follow at Rosemount Memorial Gardens, 2551 Whittington Dr, Peterborough, Ontario.
