Gesa passed away peacefully on August 10th, 2025, with her family by her side. She was a mother to Oliver, Michael, Stephen, and stepmother to Peter and Ingrid. She was also a loving grandmother to Jamie, Jake and Olivia.
Gesa loved to travel, enjoyed making her legendary truffles, was a keen backgammon player, and liked doing crossword puzzles. She had a deep affection for animals, large and small, and always made sure the squirrels were well fed. Gesa had a sharp sense of humour and continued to joke right up until the end.
A special heartfelt thank you to Terry & Sandy Montgomery and Karl & Trudy Schmidt for taking such wonderful care of her. Our sincere thanks also go to the amazing staff at Appleby Place.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no service. Instead, Gesa asked that you raise a glass of champagne in her honour.
