Peacefully, surrounded by loving family on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Bluewater Health, Klara passed away at the age of 88. Beloved wife of the late Steve Nemeth (2018). Loving mother of the late Jim Kovacs and stepmother of Susan (Dragan) Oblak, Steve Nemeth, and Nancy (Neil) Chambers. Cherished grandmother of Brayden and Kyle Kovacs, Justin (Lauren), Adam (Kim), Marty (Katie), Mila-Michelle, and Kurtis Oblak, and Evan and Jessica Chambers. Loving great-grandmother of Hunter, Cove, Gavin, David, Dash, Ever, Kody, Anna, Ashton, and Ella.
In 1956 Klara was defected from Hungary to France and after spending a year in the camps, Klara Kovacs immigrated to Canada in 1957. One of Klara’s favourite pastimes was playing cards. It wouldn’t be unusual for her to be up until midnight playing her favourite card game Canasta with her family. Klara loved to spend time at the water, especially by the river in Tisza, Tivadar, or in Sarnia by the blue waters. Some of her greatest memories were with her family and friends at the large picnics that were hosted in Bright’s Grove. Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Klara’s wishes, no public services will be held. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to a charity of your choice (cheques only at the funeral home please).
