It is with broken hearts that the family of Renata Filas announces her peaceful passing on May 2nd, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.
Throughout her journey, Renata displayed incredible courage and unwavering hope. Renata faced her illness with determination, strength and grace.
Renata proudly provided for her family and found her greatest joy in time spent with her husband, children and grandchildren. Known for her delicious cooking and baking, she also enjoyed gardening and vacationing at a lakefront cottage.
Renata was born and raised in Lublin, Poland. Searching for a better life, Renata traveled to Italy with her husband and children before immigrating and settling in Windsor, Ontario. Renata was a proud business owner for over 30 years.
Renata’s death is preceded by her parents Eugeniusz and Zofia Gawrońscy and sister Danuta Lis. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Jan Filas; beloved mother of three children; Radek Filas, Kinga Kowalik (Filas) and Olivia Filas; adored grandmother of five grandchildren, Aleksander Kowalik, Malina Kowalik, Maksym Kowalik, Gia Filas and Jax Filas. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her both here in Canada and Poland.
A Mass of the Resurrection will take place on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Parish at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery for immediate family. Flowers will be accepted from Forget Me Not Flowers, or contributions may be made to the Windsor Cancer Center Foundation.
A special thank you to all the doctors and nurses at Windsor Regional Hospital-Metropolitan Campus who took such kind and compassionate care of Renata and our family.
