Passed away peacefully at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at the age of 87. Born in Peterborough, Ontario, Maryllis was the eldest daughter of Clarence and Phyllis Ferguson. Maryllis was a devoted and loving mother to Anna MacMillan (Murdo) and Ted Dongelmans (Stephanie), and a cherished grandmother to Joe, Emma, Ethan and Lauren. Maryllis Dongelmans was the dear sister of the late Patricia Pretty (Roger) and a loving aunt to Sarah Pretty and her children. Maryllis will be fondly remembered by her family and friends for her love of music and education, her deep faith, and her dedication to her community. She generously shared her talents throughout her life, lending her voice to the Vocalaires in the 1970s, her piano skills to the Drifters and other musical groups, and serving as organist at St. Mark’s for 18 years. Her smile, commitment, patience and contributions to those around her will be remembered with gratitude and affection.
