Peacefully passed away, with his wife Caroline of 62 years by his side, at Margaret Bahen Hospice, Newmarket on Sunday, August 23, 2026 at 92 years of age.
Loving dad of Jacqueline (Chris) Little, Lisa (Glenn) Thomson, and Julie (Trevor) Brown. Proud papa of Shane, Brooke, Erica, Hope, Ryan, Justin, and Jordan. Richard was one of 13 children. He lived with a sharp wit, a warm heart, a wonderful sense of humour, and an honesty that earned the respect of all who knew him. Richard Thomas Kennedy will be forever in the hearts of his wife, children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends, all of whom were fortunate to know and love him.
In recognition of Richard’s many years as a valued member of the Royal Canadian Legion, we are honoured to host his Celebration of Life at the Bradford Legion (115 Back St., Bradford, Ontario) on Sunday, October 4th from 1:00–4:00 p.m. We invite family and friends to join us in remembering and celebrating his life.
In Richard’s memory, the family invites those wishing to honour him to consider donating blood through Canadian Blood Services or donating to Margaret Bahen Hospice, with heartfelt gratitude for the exceptional care and compassion they provided to Richard and our family.
